Microsoft extends Windows 10 extended security updates program amid RAMpocalypse 06/25/2026

Microsoft has extended support for Windows 10 (as long as you are signed into a Microsoft account) for another year. They've most likely done this with crazy increases in prices for new computers, which don't seem to be stopping. I'm not a big fan of using a Microsoft account, so my advice is that if you can afford it, you are better off getting a newer computer that is Windows 11 compatible.

Windows 11 is not ending support for legacy printer drivers after all 02/25/2026

Microsoft has released clarification about old printer drivers not working anymore in Windows 11. Apparently it was talking about submissions to Microsoft for drivers, not what drivers are supported on the OS. This is good news for anyone who has an old printer that they want to keep using.

Old printers (and I'm talking like probably 15 years or so) that rely on older types of print drivers are no longer going to work with the installation of the latest security updates. I know I've seen some customers with really old printers that this might affect.
