Upcoming Events With Our Squadron

Welcome to students who recently took our ROCM classes. And, welcome to new members to our squadron. Here are fall events you are welcome to come and meet our friendly club.

Ongoing VHF Radio Courses continue. Virtual Classroom format Marine Radio (ROCM) courses are available online monthly. These are taught by Phil Wagner, assisted by Charlie Ellins. Register for Self Directed Study courses for ROCM if you wish to learn at your own pace. Sign up at the CanBoat national website. Questions: email us at [email protected]

Orillia Pirate Festival is held at Port of Orillia on September 4-6. Our Squadron will have an information booth there requiring volunteers to hand out boating course info to interested boaters or pirates. If you can volunteer a morning or afternoon at the booth call George Downey. Call 905-252-6983. If you can't help, bring rum.

Our Squadron's Annual BBQ will occur at Bob's famous Tiki Bar overlooking Lk.Couchiching on Sunday, Sept 13 from 1-4pm. Our members and guests and our friends from Champlain Sailing Club are also invited. Students from our courses are invited to come and meet the instructors and squadron members. This event is BYOB. Please contact Karen Stevens at least a week before at 705-323-3216 for a head count and if you can bring a salad or dessert. Please contact Bob Burt at 705-205-7577 for docking reservations.

For course info, squadron questions or membership signup info please contact Orillia Squadron at [email protected]. We hope you can join us at the above events.
