Melting down spruce gum will yield material used for adhesives, fire lighting, waterproofing, and topical medicines. If you see a bundle of basswood bark in the water at Giiwedin Ki, PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH.
We are retting this bark to be used for crafts.

Retting is placing bark in water to breakdown the fibres in order to make it more pliable. The longer it remains in the water the softer it will be and we are hoping to have it in there for a month and a half.

Grand plan to have a full on outdoor classroom but it needs to be built up. Looking for 20 people to help with this

Super heating a sealed container full of birch bark in a fire, that has a hole in the bottom connected to another vessel, which allows the oil to drain and collect.

Can be used as a topical ointment for eczema, psoriasis, and promotion of Wound healing

Thicker oil can be used as an adhesive or glue

Works well when creating torches or fuel for oil lamps.

Has inspect repellent properties

And can be used a finish to seal wood.

BIRCH OIL!
