Yesterday, we held our National Day for Truth and Reconciliation assembly and associated classroom activities, where we learned about and reflected on the history of the residential school system and honoured all those whose lives were affected.

Thank you to our Grade 7 Leaders who did an amazing job putting all of this together, and to Mr. Dickner for braving the heights to snap a picture of our whole-school orange heart!

Reminder that all students are encouraged to wear an orange shirt to school tomorrow. If your child doesn't have an orange shirt, they can get one at school. Our assembly starts at 2:15 PM and everyone is welcome!

Huge shoutout to our Flag Football Team, who represented OES with pride, sportsmanship, and a top-notch performance at the GORD tournament on Friday. Our athletes had a blast and brought home another banner for OES!

Yesterday, OES students, staff, and families came together to celebrate the legacy of Terry Fox.

We ran, walked, laughed, and cheered each other on as we honoured Terry’s courage, determination, and dream of finding a cure for cancer. It was a rewarding day and a great reminder of the incredible school community we have here at OES.

A special thanks to everyone who donated to our fundraising efforts, and to Onoway Elementary School Council & OPEFA for the special treat we enjoyed following the run!
