Health fields include medicine, sports nutrition, and clinical psychology. Dinner will be served as well!

It was great seeing everyone today at the Festival Village! It was amazing seeing new faces, as well as familiar ones. Hope you guys are as excited as we are for starting the new school year, and launching our first event (details coming soon)!

Thank you to all the students, presenters and faculty who came out to our 2nd GRASP symposium yesterday! It was a great success and research presentations were outstanding. We cannot wait for our next year's symposium which we promise will be bigger and better! Special thanks to Ryerson University and University of Guelph to showcase their research as well.

GRASP Symposium, Innovations in Health, is held on May 18th, 2016 at 9:00 am in 214 Calumet, York University, Toronto. Please rsvp if you wish to attend. Key note speaker: Dr Harvey Skinner.

The Graduate Research Association of Students in Public Health (GRASP) is currently accepting abstracts for their second annual research symposium taking place on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 at York University. We are inviting undergraduate and graduate students from universities across Ontario to showcase their interdisciplinary spirit in exploring multiple dimensions in the study of health.
Student researchers from all disciplines are invited to submit an abstract to present (i.e., poster session or 15-minute oral presentation) at the symposium. Both undergraduate and graduate papers will be considered. Limited funding opportunities available for undergraduate poster presentations.
Topics can include but are not limited to:
Natural Sciences Nursing Psychology Neuroscience
Kinesiology Computer Science Biostatistics Engineering
Healthy Policy Law Education Biology
Submission Guidelines:
1. Include your name and area of study
2. E-mail address & phone number (mobile)
3. Title & abstract not exceeding 250 words
4. Reason why you deserve funding (for undergraduates who are preparing a poster)
4. Please send abstracts to [email protected] no later than February 29th, 2016
Attendance will be open to all students, faculty, and staff from different universities at no charge. The symposium schedule and location will be promoted and posted on the GRASP website (www.yorku.ca/grasp). Acceptance letters will be sent via email approximately 3 weeks after the deadline for submission.
Audio and video equipment will be provided at the symposium for the presenters using PowerPoint presentations.
If you are a candidate for the GRASP “Certificate of Interest in Public Health” (for attending 4 GRASP events throughout the year) you have the option to be presented the certificate at the symposium. Awards will be presented at the end of the conference.
