From AI to real life.
The last picture is the image I was sent with the question if I could crochet her. I absolutely loved the process of having a reference picture and trying to bring it to life with the skills I own. I am a sucker for details and realistic shapes, so trying to replicate this was a pure joy to me.
She is perfect.

The fat chicken challenge for this week is over for most. They weren't all finished, because we had too much fun figuring out
* how to crochet this new shape
* how to use all these personal picks of yarn - thick, thin, fluffy, chunky, etc..
* how to gently undo your stitches and changing course and restart that row (so brave!)
Plus there was a lot of
* chattering away and making new friends
* role play while crocheting new characters
I think I can speak for all if I say that this was the best Crochet a Chicken week ever, and that we will all stay in touch!

The serenity.
So the chicken fever officially took over. All the 'big girls' moved out from my studio area into a big tent we built on the spot yesterday. Gathered around a little round table, armored with hooks, yarn and some scribbled instructions they were quiet as a mouse, crocheting away.
When it was time to go home they all asked to bring their project with them to continue at home.
Mission accomplished ❤️🐔

I love my new crochet assistant Martha. In fact, we all do! She is a special breed, a weighted chicken with a good eye for detail. Even though she loves to snuggle with everyone, she is also quite strict. "Count your stitches! Do your Summer Math, ladies!" And of course we all obey, because - look at her - no one resists our Martha.
Today we will all crochet our own Martha, because she is clearly a hit. I can't wait to see them all together. It will be hilarious.
Happy Chicken Day, sweet people!
