Informational interviews are an important part of the Reboot Plus experience.
These conversations give youth the opportunity to connect directly with professionals from different industries and ask meaningful questions about careers, education, and workplace experiences. Hearing real stories from people working in various fields can help participants better understand their options and discover pathways they may not have previously considered. Informational interviews also help youth build communication skills and professional confidence.
Sometimes a single conversation can inspire a completely new direction for the future.

Career development is about more than choosing a job title.
Reboot Plus uses a Hope-Centered Career Development approach that encourages youth to reflect on their strengths, interests, goals, and future possibilities.
Participants are supported as they explore careers, build confidence, and imagine new opportunities for themselves. The program focuses on growth, resilience, and helping youth recognize their potential.
When young people feel hopeful about their future, they are more likely to engage in education, career planning, and community involvement.

According to recent Google search trends, people are no longer searching most for “jobs that pay well.”
Instead, more people are searching for “jobs that help people.”
That shift says a lot about the future of work; especially for young people entering today’s labour market.
At Reboot Plus, we see this every day. Many youth want careers with purpose, opportunities to grow, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in their communities.
As workplaces continue to evolve alongside AI, automation, and changing industries, human skills matter more than ever:
✔️ Communication
✔️ Empathy
✔️ Problem-solving
✔️ Collaboration
✔️ Adaptability
These are the skills that help people thrive in careers that technology can’t replace.
Helping youth build confidence, transferable skills, and career pathways isn’t just about employment, it’s about helping them discover where they can contribute and belong.

Many young Canadians continue to experience challenges finding stable employment opportunities. Economic shifts, limited work experience, and changing workforce expectations can make entering the labour market difficult for youth.
Through Reboot Plus, we support young Canadians who are navigating an increasingly complex transition into the labour market. Many participants face barriers such as limited work experience, shifting economic conditions, and evolving employer expectations, all of which can make it harder to secure stable employment.
Reboot Plus helps address these challenges by building confidence, strengthening workplace awareness, and developing essential professional skills that support long-term success. The program also provides meaningful opportunities for career exploration, mentorship, informational interviews, and reflective learning, helping youth better understand their strengths and future pathways.

What happens when young people are disconnected from education, employment, or training for too long?
Communities feel it everywhere, including in healthcare, skilled trades, and essential services.
One Reboot Plus partner recently shared a powerful example: retired nurses in their 60s returning to work to help fill staffing shortages because younger generations have not yet moved into those roles.
That is why programs like Reboot Plus matter.
Through career exploration, hands-on learning, mentorship, and community connection, participants are building confidence and discovering pathways into meaningful futures.
Whether it is trying heavy equipment simulators, exploring digital animation, earning First Aid certification, or simply building social confidence through a supper club, every experience helps participants move forward.

Some of the most meaningful learning happens outside of a traditional classroom environment. At Reboot Plus, field trips, workplace visits, and career exploration activities help youth connect education with real-world opportunities and future career pathways.
These experiences give participants the chance to ask questions, observe workplace environments, and learn directly from professionals across different industries. Experiential learning helps make career planning feel more engaging, practical, and accessible while building confidence and expanding possibilities.
By exposing youth to new environments, careers, and perspectives, Reboot Plus helps participants discover their strengths, explore their interests, and take meaningful steps toward employment, education, and long-term success.

Career development often begins with curiosity and self-reflection. Questions like “What am I interested in?” or “What kind of work environment would fit me best?” can help youth better understand themselves and their future possibilities.
Reboot Plus encourages participants to explore their strengths, values, and goals through guided activities and conversations. Taking time to reflect can help young people make more informed education and career decisions. Career planning is a journey, and every question is part of the process.

There is no single path to career success. Some young people move directly into post-secondary education, while others explore trades, employment, entrepreneurship, or alternative learning opportunities. Reboot Plus encourages participants to explore pathways that align with their interests, values, and strengths.
Career development is about discovering possibilities and finding a direction that feels meaningful and achievable.
