This week, Cedar Community Secondary School honoured the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. 🧡

We took time to hold space for Survivors, remember the children who never made it home, and reflect on the lasting impacts of residential schools on Indigenous Peoples, families, and communities.

As we continue learning, listening, and building relationships, we are reminded of the importance of approaching one another with care, compassion, and understanding. Reconciliation requires more than remembrance. It calls on us to listen to Indigenous voices, learn the truths of our shared history, reflect on our responsibilities, and take meaningful action.

Terry Fox Run 2026 ✨

What an incredible day at Cedar Community Secondary School! Our students and staff showed excellent participation and amazing support for the Terry Fox Run.

It was wonderful to see our school community come together, get moving, and honour Terry’s legacy. Thank you to everyone who participated, encouraged others, and helped make today such a meaningful event!

What else are you going to do on the penultimate school day of the year but schedule opening night of the first Cedar Secondary Musical ever!

Our brave, talented, and energetic actors belted out their lines and songs with abandon.

Friday and Saturday tickets for Rock of Ages are still available but going fast.

There is always something growing in the Cedar garden—and always something to do!

From watering, weeding, and tending plants to harvesting fresh berries and radishes, our students are learning firsthand that a thriving garden takes daily care and attention.

This week, students were also busy installing four new planter boxes along the fence line. A huge thank you to Mr. K and our Wood Shop students for designing and building these beautiful boxes, which will soon be home to a new crop of raspberries.

Getting our hands dirty, working together, and helping create spaces that will grow food and learning!

Our Grade 8 Gardening students were buzzing with excitement during a recent bee workshop! From examining honeycomb up close to trying on beekeeper gear, students got a sweet glimpse into the world of bees and beekeeping.
