The VIU Research Seminar Series welcomes the public to attend and learn about research at Vancouver Island University. Hosted by the Scholarship Research and Creative Activity office at VIU, each session will feature one of seven themes pictured.
Dates and times: Wednesdays evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 on the Nanaimo campus (doors open at 5 pm) on January 21, 28, February 4, 25, March 4, 7, 11.

🦪Join us at the Deep Bay Marine Field Station on Saturday March 7 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. For a special seminar with Tim Green (Fisheries and Aquaculture Professor and Canada Research Chair), Andrew Loudon (Biology Professor) and their students to learn about how climate change will affect seafood safety.

It was a Super Seaweed Saturday with our friends at Milner Gardens and Woodland sharing our love for marine algae with visitors during their Spring Plant Sale and Open House. Thank you to everyone who brought their curiosity, rolled up their sleeves, and learned about seaweed! WHERE: Deep Bay Marine Field Station, 370 Crome Point Road, Bowser, BC
WHEN: Friday November 1st, 1-3pm
WHY: This is a rare chance to see a very special temporary exhibit: a 550 year old Pentlatch fish trap panel from Comox Harbour.
COST: Admission is by donation
Registation: not needed - just drop by between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
Vancouver Island University operates the Deep Bay Marine Field Station on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Qualicum and K'omóks First Nations. It is with their permission and support that this exhibit has been made possible.
Visitors will be able to tour the whole station during this open house. 🦐🔍🐋🐚
