A huge thank you to Kevin White for rebuilding safe, sturdy stairs for our learners to get down to our chickens safely!

The old stairs were rotting and becoming unsafe, so we are incredibly grateful for the time, hard work, and care you put into making them safe again. Our learners love being able to visit and care for our chickens, and this makes such a big difference! ๐Ÿ”๐ŸŒฑ

Thank you, Kevin, for helping us keep our learners safe while enjoying one of their favourite parts of our program!

๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŽ Growing Goodness All Year Long! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅฌ

We feel incredibly lucky to have so much garden space that allows us to grow an abundance of fresh, healthy food for our learners throughout the year! ๐Ÿ’š

From figs and rhubarb that become delicious pies, to apples for homemade applesauce and healthy snacks, our garden gives us so much to be grateful for. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿฅง

We grow lettuce for fresh salads, strawberries and blueberries, and even lilacs that can be used for homemade jams and jellies. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ“ We also grow raspberries and blackberries, perfect for making delicious homemade jams and jellies as well! ๐Ÿ‡โœจ

We also have chestnuts, kale to add extra greens to our salads, and plenty of tomatoes that turn into homemade salsa, pasta sauce, pizza sauce with fresh basil, and so much more! ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿฅ—

Our garden also blesses us with sweet pears, juicy grapes, and kiwi, perfect for fresh eating, snacks, and sharing the joy of seasonal harvests. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿฅ

And our squash and garlic is a wonderful addition to healthy homemade pasta sauces, adding extra nutrition and goodness. ๐ŸŽƒ๐Ÿ

We are so grateful to be in a position where we can grow, harvest, prepare, and provide nutritious foods for our learners year-round. There is something so special about watching food grow from the garden, knowing it will eventually make its way onto a learnerโ€™s plate. ๐ŸŒฑโžก๏ธ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

From our garden to our learners โ€” we are so thankful for every little seed, harvest, and helping hand that makes it possible. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒป

๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ Our garden is growingโ€”and so is our appreciation for everything that helps it thrive! ๐Ÿž๐Ÿ•ท๏ธ

At A Taste of Learning, weโ€™re incredibly fortunate to have a garden that provides fresh food for our learners throughout the year. It offers countless opportunities for hands-on learning while connecting our learners to where food comes from.

Weโ€™re also grateful for the amazing creatures that make it all possible. From hardworking bees pollinating our plants, to ladybugs helping protect our vegetables, and even spiders keeping garden pests in balance, every part of the garden ecosystem plays an important role.

A thriving garden is truly a team effort, and weโ€™re thankful for every little helper that makes it possible! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ’š

A very special thank you to the incredible team at Fire Station #4 in Cedar for welcoming our Summer Program for an afternoon of exploration, learning, and community connection! ๐Ÿš’โค๏ธ

Our learners had an amazing time exploring the fire truck, trying out the fire hose, learning about the equipment, and their opportunity to become curious. The firefighters were incredibly kind, patient, and engaging, making the experience fun, welcoming, and memorable for everyone.

Hands-on experiences like these inspire curiosity and help bring learning to life. We are so grateful for the time you took to share your knowledge and passion with our learners.

Thank you, Fire Station #4, for your generosity, your service to our community, and for giving our learners an experience they'll be talking about for a long time! ๐Ÿš’โœจ

Last week, our learners had the exciting opportunity to release the butterflies they had been caring for and observing since they were tiny caterpillars. ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿฆ‹

Throughout this hands-on learning experience, the children watched each stage of the life cycle unfoldโ€”from caterpillar to chrysalis and finally to butterfly. They learned about metamorphosis, patience, responsibility, and the importance of caring for living things.

Releasing the butterflies was a special moment as the learners celebrated the incredible transformation they had witnessed firsthand. This experience sparked curiosity, encouraged observation skills, and deepened their understanding of nature and the world around them. What an amazing journey it has been! ๐ŸŒฟโœจ
