Morris Early Learning Centres located in the vibrant Town of Morris; 40 minutes South of Winnipeg is seeking applications for the position of EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.
This position is responsible for leading and mentoring a community of dedicated and passionate professionals to provide a caring, nurturing and stimulating environment and programming to children ages, infant, preschool, and school age. As well as partnering with our Board of Directors, Town of Morris, and community in the upcoming expansion and opening of a new 104 space program in 2024!
We are seeking an individual who leads with a holistic approach to provide a safe, inclusive, and respectful work and learning environments.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Ensures and facilitates the smooth functioning of all aspects of the child care centre in order to best serve children and families.
• Provides supervision, leadership, and support to all centre staff.
• Conducts ongoing informal and annual formal performance evaluations of centre staff.
• Facilitates the recruitment and coordinates the selection, hiring and orientation of all new staff to the centre, within centre-approved processes and polices.
• Ensures licensing requirements are always met.
• Maintains operation of the centre within the approved budget
• Coordinates staff scheduling within approved teacher-child ratios.
• Oversees and manages all elements of centre enrollment and liaison with the child care coordinator, and ensures the smooth integration of new family-children into the centre
• Consults, supports, and provides guidance to teaching staff in evaluating and revising children’s programming as required.
• Develops and maintains positive relationships and regular communication with parent-clients; facilitates or directly provides mediation and resolution to parent-program conflicts which arise.
• Ensures regular liaison and communication, as required and applicable, with third parties, including landlord, custodial service, maintenance services, (school administration, school board as applicable to position), etc.
• Ensures appropriate professional development opportunities are made available to centre staff, within centre and agency budget parameters and in accordance with identified training needs of staff at the centre.
• Markets the centre to prospective client-parents, within centre standards.
• In collaboration with the teaching team, facilitates the placement, orientation, and evaluation of ECE students on placements at the centre.
• Represents the centre by participation on committees within the Morris community.
• Communicates key messages on decisions made by the Management Team to centre staff on an ongoing basis.
• Represents the centre by participation on committees in the child care community.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Board of Directors.
Education & Training Required:
• ECE III diploma or provincially recognized equivalent with two years experience in management role.
• Valid Standard First Aid and Level “C” CPR.
• Negative criminal records and child abuse checks.
Compensation:
• Starting wage of $ 36.23 with an ECE III classification
• 3 weeks starting paid vacation
