🚨 Tomorrow: The Hidden Cost of Productivity

You can be busy all day, finish several tasks and still avoid the one action that would actually move your business forward.

Productive avoidance can look like:
Reorganizing your content
Rewriting something that was already good enough
Researching instead of deciding
Taking another course instead of applying what you know
Helping everyone else before completing your own work
Working harder because the meaningful task feels uncomfortable
You aren’t lazy or unmotivated. Your nervous system may be directing you toward tasks that feel safer, more familiar or easier to control.

During tomorrow’s workshop, The Hidden Cost of Productivity, we’ll explore:
✨ Why busyness can become a protective behaviour
✨ How to recognize what you’re avoiding beneath the activity
✨ The difference between work that creates relief and work that creates movement
✨ How to choose one grain-of-sand action that moves the real task forward

If you’ve been working hard but wondering why your business still isn’t moving the way you want, this workshop is for you.

🧊 Ever open your laptop… and suddenly your brain leaves the building? 😂

You KNOW what you need t o do.
You WANT to do it.
You may even have the tab open.
But somehow you’re now staring into space, reorganizing something completely unnecessary, or scrolling your phone wondering where the last 30 minutes went. 😅

That might not be laziness.
Sometimes 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘇𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘄𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲.
Before you call yourself lazy, get curious about what your nervous system might be doing instead.

# # # 💸 Is Imposter Syndrome Quietly Costing You in Your Business?

Imposter syndrome doesn’t always sound like **“I’m not good enough.”**

Sometimes it sounds like:

“I should probably lower my price.”
“I need to add more before I can charge that.”
“I’ll wait another week to launch.”
“I just need to learn a little more first.”

And that’s where imposter syndrome can become more than an uncomfortable feeling.

It can influence how you **price, sell, show up, make decisions, and take the risks required to grow.**

You might underprice.
Over-deliver.
Second-guess yourself.
Delay the launch.
Or keep preparing instead of taking the next step.

Little by little, those patterns can have a real cost to your business.

That’s why starting Monday, August 17, I’m hosting a FREE 7-Day Imposter Syndrome Challenge inside The Regulated Leader.

Each day, we’ll uncover a pattern that may be hiding underneath imposter syndrome and practice one small way to interrupt it.

💬 Has imposter syndrome ever cost you a price, launch, opportunity, or decision?

No explanation needed. Just YES if you recognize yourself here.💚

When Your Worth Gets Tied to Your Work

Burnout isn’t always about "doing too much."

Sometimes it happens when what you "do" becomes tangled up with **who you are.**

A good sales day? "I’m doing great."
Low engagement? "What am I doing wrong?"
A launch struggles? "Maybe I’m not cut out for this."

Suddenly, the result isn’t just information it feels "personal".

But your performance will fluctuate. Your value doesn’t have to fluctuate with it.

🌿 Try this at the end of your day:
1️⃣ What did I accomplish today?
2️⃣ Who did I show up as today?

Maybe you were courageous. Consistent. Patient. Honest. Willing to try again.

The first question measures "output."
The second reminds you of "identity."

Learning to separate the two can take some of the pressure off your nervous system and help you lead from steadiness rather than constantly needing your results to prove something.

💬 Where do you notice yourself making a result mean something about you?

🏃‍♀️ When “Getting Things Done” Is Actually Avoidance…

Here’s something I wish more people talked about:

Avoidance doesn’t always look like doing nothing.

Sometimes it looks like doing EVERYTHING except the thing that feels uncomfortable.

You answer the emails.
Fix the website.
Research another idea.
Organize your workspace.
Start something new.

You’ve been busy all day… yet the conversation, decision, boundary, or visible action you needed to take is still sitting there.

That can be flight disguised as productivity.

In my newest episode of Who Are You Under Pressure?, I’m breaking down how to recognize this pattern—and what you can do when you catch it.

The goal isn’t to stop being productive. 🌿

It’s to ask:

“Am I moving toward what matters—or away from what feels uncomfortable?”

Imposter syndrome doesn’t always sound like “I’m not good enough.”

Sometimes it sounds like:

“I’ll wait another week.”
“Maybe I should lower the price.”
“I need to learn a little more first.”

And you’re not alone. Research suggests up to 82% of people experience imposter feelings.

But what if it’s not just a confidence problem?

Sometimes, there’s a protection pattern underneath freeze, flight, fawn, or fight.

🌿 Starting Monday, August 17th**, our FREE **7-Day Imposter Syndrome Challenge** will help you recognize which patterns may be affecting your pricing, visibility, and decisions—and practice small ways to interrupt them.

When Over-Explaining Is Actually a Fight Response

Over-explaining is often connected to people-pleasing—but it can also carry fight energy.

Sometimes you aren’t simply sharing information. You’re building a case.

You explain every reason behind your decision, prepare for objections that haven’t happened and keep adding details because being misunderstood feels unsafe. What looks like thoroughness may actually be your nervous system preparing for a fight you haven’t been asked to have.

Before adding another paragraph, pause and ask:

**“Am I sharing helpful information—or am I trying to prove that I’m right, reasonable or justified?”**

You don’t always need the other person’s agreement to trust your decision.

How often do you catch yourself over-explaining?

🔥 Fight Doesn’t Always Look Like Anger

Sometimes it looks like:
• over-explaining your decision
• controlling every detail
• correcting things that don’t really matter
• rewriting your work so nobody can criticize it
• feeling like everything must be resolved immediately

In Episode 2 of Who Are You Under Pressure?, I’m exploring the fight response—or what I call the identity of “The One Who Pushes Back.”

We’ll look at what fight feels like in the body, what it may be trying to protect and a simple orienting exercise that can help you pause before activation chooses your response.

Regulation doesn’t mean becoming passive. It means creating enough space to choose how you want to use your strength.

How does fight tend to show up for you irritability, control, over-explaining, perfectionism or something else?
