Beloved Students,
As we enter the solemn and sacred days of Holy Week, we extend to each of you our heartfelt wishes and prayers.
This is a time in which our Holy Church invites us to walk alongside our Lord Jesus Christ as He approaches His voluntary Passion. Through the holy services, and especially through the sacred hymnography that you are diligently studying, we are given the profound privilege to experience, in a mystical manner, the depth of His humility, His suffering, and His boundless love for mankind.
As students of Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music, your duty during these days is both an honor and a responsibility. The hymns of Holy Week are among the most profound expressions of our Orthodox faith. When offered with reverence, precision, and prayerfulness, they become a living proclamation of the Gospel itself, guiding the faithful into the heart of these saving events foretold by the Holy Forefathers according to Sacred Scripture.
We encourage you to approach each service with attentiveness, humility, and inner watchfulness. Let your study and chanting not be merely technical, but deeply spiritual—so that your voices may become true instruments of prayer, edifying both yourselves and the members of the Body of Christ who attend the services.
May the Lord strengthen you in these holy days, granting you endurance, clarity of mind, and a spirit of devotion, so that you may worthily arrive at the radiant Feast of the Resurrection.
With sincere regards,
The Instructors of the School of Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music

Christ is born! Glorify Him!
For the immutable image of the Father, the imprint of His eternity,
takes upon Himself the form of a servant,
coming forth from a Mother who knew no marriage,
without undergoing change; for what He was, He remained, being true God;
and what He was not, He assumed, becoming man out of love for mankind.
To Him let us cry out: O God born of the Virgin, have mercy on us.
(Translation of the first sticheron of Vespers of the Feast of the Nativity)
Dear friends and students,
May the joy and light of Christ, on this Christmas Day, descend upon fill your hearts and homes.
On behalf of the School of Byzantine Ecclesiastical Music,
the entire team of instructors wish you and your families good health,
peace, and every blessing in the coming year.
Merry Christmas!
