Thinking about going to CDI College? http://lmgtfy.com/?q=cdi+college+sucks

I received the following message from a CDI Instructor:

"I have been a CDI instructor for almost (removed for privacy) years now, and will soon be happily unemployed. Why? Because I cannot stand to work for such an unethical company, president, regional VPs, and campus directors... to say nothing of all the lies told to students by the admission reps.
When I was first hired - it was with the old CDI (Canadian owned and grown), before they were bought out by Corrintian College Inc of the US. It was then micromanaged into the ground only to be sold to the Eminata group whose owner has a fake (honorary) degree - and just uses the local companies as a front to rip-off the Canadian government (via student loans that will most likely never be paid back) and to send the money to Korea to show what a wonderful "Christian" he is.
The old motto used to be: "When student's succeed - We succeed." Which meant the business success was built on helping students do well and then refer their friends and acquaintances.
The new motto of: "We change lives through education." Basically means for a lot of students that they get a second rate education (at best) and end up with a huge student loan to pay back. Yes, a big lesson learned.
If the students are fortunate to get a great instructor (and there are lots) their instructor will probably get minimal support from the college hierarchy, and will probably not last long. When I was first hired, the person who had been there the shortest amount of time had seven years seniority. Now, the students are lucky if their instructors actually stay to teach the whole program and most instructors only teach a few courses or only last for a few months until they can find a better job.
I could say a whole lot more, but will be saving my (removed for privacy) years worth of dirt for possibly a wrongful dismissal law suite.
How did such a great company go so wrong? I think when the focus changed from quality to greed - with the new owners - everything was doomed from that point on.
Do some students succeed? Yes, absolutely based on their own efforts. Any degree or diploma is just a foot in the door to a job. From that point on, it is always up to the student to prove them self and their learning. I just wish the college would become more student focused again, and actually help the students succeed, rather than the graduates not even being able to get practicums as "CDI is not or (no longer) recognized." (A very common experience for students to hear from prospective employers.)"

I'm not sure who the writer is of the following text but I found it doing a google search of "CDI College sucks"

"CDI College is a system of for-profit colleges in Canada. It offers programs in the business, technology and health care fields.
The schools are owned by Corinthian Colleges, Inc.
CDI was previously known as The Toronto School of Business.

Today CDI College is building a bad reputation as CDI College has been spending more money on television ads offering what is to be false in the majority of there campuses in Canada. CDI College keeps one or two campus up to date and lets the others fall be hide in quality, but since one or more campus in Canada pass there accreditation CDI College believes that logically if we offer the course and one campus is accredited then all campuses is accredited to teach this course, because of this poor logic CDI students often quit there course mid way for the lack of a better education and are frost to pay the full tuition, despite signed contract agreements that state otherwise. Many companies in Canada will not hire CDI College Students in the field of technology for “A lack of a better education” and a lack of training. Many courses like Medical Assistance or Accounting at CDI College are not recognized in Canada and you'll have to take the Government test on your own time and money money.
What to expect at CDI College.
CDI College's professional sales staff will convince you that CDI College is a high class private college as you can see by the high tuition costs, you will have hands on training, team work and small class sizes mean more attention with the teach to answer all your questions, flexible hours and class schedules to fit your needs, take only the classes you need to graduate quicker. CDI College is constantly changing with the latest in technology and industry standards.
Well no, the CDI College staff doesn't know anything about what the teachers are really teaching, CDI College administration only knows what is on the brochure and the teachers don't know what the college is offering the students. CDI College is courses are mostly self study, and all reading from common books found in the book store. CDI College learning material is often 2-5 years out of date, official CDI College Learning Guilds provided by the college are often simple and contain many formating and mistakes. Tests are computerized from a server in Toronto averaging 25 questions, these questions maybe from anywhere in the chapter or book raging approximately 50 - 150 pages, the value of a test will have in your final grade will vary depending on your course, you can expect tests to have a value of approximately 10 - 30 percent on your final grade. Tests are often hard and may not have anything you read or learned, tests are mandatory to move on to the next part of your course, often tests server's in Toronto are nonoperational and tests have to be requested by the teacher, this could take from 20 minutes to 3 days before your test is availably, during this time you will be unable to continue your course and are still required to attend regular classes, CDI students call this the "Can't Do It" pases, because you'll ask the teacher for the next part of your course in advance or for something to do while waiting for your test, you'll only hear "I can't do it" from the teacher.
CDI College is an accredited College under the private career colleges of the province in Canada, currently allowing CDI College to offer Canada Student Loans, but CDI College can not directly offer or accept Canada Student Loans as they are a Private College and are not federal or public College or University, as well CDI College is not even Canadian they are owned by an American Private College called Corinthian Colleges, Inc., by Canadian law CDI College can not directly accept a Canada Student Loan, instead they make the students apply and cash the loans there for CDI College is not responsible for anything the student chooses to do with the loan.
All Canadian Student Loans to private colleges will soon stop in the future if the new propose legislation passes, as well as new federal standards to insure education quality.
Aaron Laforest was the first dissatisfied CDI College student of 2006 to successfully sue CDI College for false advertising and misrepresentation. CDI has been ordered to pay him $5,000 in expenses and damages. The judge said he agrees with LaForest -- that CDI did not deliver as promised.
CDICollegeSucks.com was a website created by a dissatisfied CDI College student, expressing his dissatisfies and bad experiences. CDI College president was suspected by the websites creator for spamming, scared of the websites growing success CDI College threaten and harassed the website. Months after the website was on the internet the webmaster was frost to shut it down, the reason was never stated, but rumored CDI College paid of the owner to keep quiet, but one month after the website was shut down people like Patcoola for example started rising internet search engine results, the key words based on CDI College Sucks brings back the memory of the lost website, Patcoola was also a dissatisfied CDI College student.
CDICollege.com has moved to CDICollege.ca no longer providing a link to there provincial accrediter."
