It’s funny how small the world can be.

My name is Gabriella Castiel, and this summer I have the privilege of working as the Marketing and Social Media Intern at SNAP Family Centre. As I was learning more about the organization’s history, I discovered a special family connection: my cousin, Jesse Castiel, previously served on the Board from 2014 to 2017 when SNAP was known as the Family Resource Centre. During his time there, he helped guide the organization’s strategic direction, including discussions around service priorities, budgeting, and long-term sustainability.

Seeing this connection come full circle is a reminder that community involvement often starts close to home. Long before I joined the team, members of my family were already helping support the Centre’s mission of bringing people together and creating a welcoming space for families.

Today, I’m proud to contribute in my own way by helping share SNAP’s story, celebrate its impact, and connect with the incredible community that makes this organization so special.

The first photo is Jesse and me as kids. The second and third photos show us today, still connected by family, and now connected by a shared commitment to community.

I’m grateful to be part of SNAP’s journey and excited to continue supporting its growth and impact.
