MISSION STATEMENT

A vibrant hub for national and global trade, transport and communications, Montreal is a city of the world, within Quebec’s bilingual society and bijuridical legal system. The E.S.S.’s mission is to reflect and promote the metropolitan, bilingual and bijuridical ethos of our society by:


  • Supporting access to justice for the English-speaking community within the purview of the Bar of Montreal and Quebec in general;

  • Promoting treatment, processing, services and ressources for individuals in Quebec seeking access to justice in English, equivalent in quality to those available in French;

  • Facilitating the election of at least four (4) English-speaking lawyers on the Council of the Bar of Montreal;
