We are excited to invite you to two upcoming events with MC Snow, the 2025 Mellon Artist-In-Residence.
An artist panel on Indigenous Art in Schools and Universities will take place on Thursday, March 27, from 4–6 PM in Arts-150.
An artist talk with MC Snow will take place on Thursday, April 3, from 1–2:30 PM in Macdonald-Harrington G-10.
MC Snow lives and works in Kahnawake and Tiotiake. His sculptures and paintings address the social challenges of living in a post-colonial climate of reclamation. It is with a determined vision for hope and search for the truth that MC wants to confront the reality of his own truth and reconciliation with his past. Themes of division, mistrust, adversity, and collusion slam against the force of truth, respect, honor, and loyalty. This continual push and pull of power that seems to sometimes tie us down, sometimes set us free. When not engaged in personal projects, MC is a big advocate for promoting the visual arts in the local school boards and universities.

ISCEI, is pleased to invite you to a public performance by our Artist-in-Residence, Soleil Launière, on Thursday, September 12th, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the East Field, Burnside Hall.
Originally from Mashteuiatsh, Soleil Launière is a multidisciplinary artist and director. She blends performance art, movement, theatre, and singing, drawing inspiration from the Innu world’s cosmogony and animal spirits. Her work weaves experimental audiovisuals, expressing thoughts on silence and universal languages.
In this performance, Soleil will use water as a symbol of healing and regeneration. Immersing herself in containers to evoke the depths of the seas, she will symbolize a connection with the Earth’s tears. Sounds captured underwater will invite the audience to experience them as if in the womb, fostering renewal and tranquility.
We hope you can join us for this unique and reflective event!
