Meet Jim! This summer, Jim is getting an inside look at public affairs and stakeholder relations as a Public Affairs Assistant with the UTM 's Office of Communications & Public Affairs.

From tracking government developments to contributing to a community impact report for Mississauga and Peel, his internship is allowing him to see how UTM works with government and community partners and how those conversations turn into action.

Meet Chris! This summer, Chris is gaining firsthand municipal experience with the Town of East Gwillimbury where he's supporting strategic planning initiatives through public engagement, policy analysis, and service improvement. By gathering community input and reviewing municipal plans to inform the Town's 2027–2030 Council priorities, Chris is contributing to meaningful projects that support evidence-based decision-making and shape the community's future.

Meet Riyaaq who is interning with the Emerging Technologies Office at the Ministry of Transportation. She is supporting the EV ChargeON program through research projects while gaining firsthand insight into Ontario's growing electric vehicle infrastructure. From visiting EV charging companies to learning about emerging technologies, she is learning a lot about the future of sustainable transportation.
