Hey everyone, just thought I would share a picture of a graph showing the performance of students who hired tutors against the performance of those that did not.

As can be seen on the graph, students who hired tutors scored better across all subjects than those who didn't!

This is because tutors can create a customized learning plan that better fits a student's learning style than the learning style employed in the student's classroom.

Prepping a lesson on factoring for a student of mine who is looking to get ready for grade 9 before the school year starts!

Pro tip: factoring is one of the harder topics covered in high-school math. To make sure you succeed in factoring try looking into it before its taught in your math class. A great resource with a lot of walk through videos and practice questions on factoring is Khan Academy.

Hey everyone, just thought I would introduce myself through a quick post! My name is Antonio Corrado. I graduated from the University of Waterloo and received a bachelors degree in engineering!

For a better part of my life I've had a great interest in learning and educating in math and science. This passion led me to start tutoring privately five years ago. Sharing some behind the scenes stuff! This is the online tutoring setup that I use to teach all my students. It consists of:

- My laptop
- My writing tablet and pencil
- A notebook
- I use zoom and OneNote as the screen sharing and whiteboard app combo that allows me to walk students through problems and teach them concepts!

All together this setup has allowed me to successfully teach my students and guide them to success!!

I've realized many students get confused when trying to complete the square to solve a math problem. Thus, I've decided to share the solution to one of a student's question involving this method!

Just thought I'd share some tips that will help students study for math and science as effectively as possible!

-First of all, before beginning to attempt any questions its really important to understand the topic at hand as this will allow students to take a critical thinking approach when answering questions.

-Students should also give each problem they are having a tough time with a thorough attempt before checking the solution, this will improve student's problem solving skills.

-Lastly students should treat making mistakes on questions as an opportunity to learn as making mistakes has been proven to be one of the best ways to effectively learn material.
