💙 Sometimes our school community becomes much more than just a school.
Right now, two AME families are facing incredibly difficult journeys, and many people have been asking how they can help. We wanted to share these community fundraisers for anyone who wishes to offer support.
💙 Sterling is one of our AME students who was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. As he begins approximately two years of treatment at BC Children’s Hospital, his family is navigating the emotional and financial challenges that come with frequent trips to Vancouver and extended hospital stays. There is a GoFundMe for those wishing to support his care, along with a community-led Facebook auction where all proceeds are also going directly to support Sterling and his family.
💙 Vienna comes from a long-standing AME family and has also recently been diagnosed with lymphoma. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and ongoing treatment at BC Children’s Hospital following a sudden and serious diagnosis. A GoFundMe has been created to help ease the financial burden so the family can focus on being together and supporting her through treatment.
Please note that these fundraisers are community-led and are being shared for awareness only.

Whether you choose to donate, bid in the auction, share these fundraisers, or simply keep both families in your thoughts, every gesture truly matters.
To both families — you are not alone in this, and you have an entire community lifting you up and standing with you every step of the way. The AME community continues to show up with kindness, strength, and unwavering support.💙

That’s a wrap, AME! 🎉
The backpacks are packed, the report cards are in, and summer is officially here!
As another school year comes to a close, we’d like to thank our incredible students, staff, and families for helping make this year such a memorable one.
From hot lunches and family events to fundraisers, celebrations, and all the little extras that help make school fun, none of it would be possible without the support of our amazing parent volunteers. Every event, every activity, and every opportunity to build community starts with people willing to give a little of their time.
If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, we’d love to have you join us next year. Whether you can volunteer once, help from home, attend meetings, or take on a larger role, every contribution makes a difference. Not only does it help create memorable experiences for all students, but it gives you a front-row seat to some of your child’s most special school years.
To our Grade 6 students, congratulations and best wishes as you head off to middle school. We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish next.
Have a safe, happy, and well-deserved summer filled with sunshine, adventure, and time with the people you love.
We’ll see you in September!

While this incident did not happen directly at our school, it happened close enough to remind us why traffic safety around schools, parks, and playgrounds matters.
A reminder to drivers that both Cedar Street and Cherry Avenue are 30 km/h playground zones from dawn to dusk. Not just during school hours. Not just at drop-off and pick-up. Dawn to dusk. Every day.
We know they’re straight roads. We know they can feel easy to drive on. But they’re also roads used by children, families, cyclists, and pedestrians heading to and from parks, playgrounds, and school.
As parents, we teach our kids to stop, look both ways, use crosswalks, and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
Drivers need to do their part too.
Slow down at intersections. Check twice before turning. Watch for pedestrians. Put distractions away.
Far too many families in our community have witnessed close calls over the years. Most don’t make the news.
Cedar is 30 by the school.
Cherry is 30 by the school.
Dawn to dusk.
Please drive like the people around you matter—because they do.

We’re fundraising with Mabel’s Labels! When you purchase personalized labels through our fundraiser, AME earns 20% commission on every sale—at no extra cost to you. Even better, orders are shipped directly to your home, so there’s no paperwork, no sorting, and no pickup required.
