Artists Loft on the 44

Just the thought of spring had us all picking floral references for our latest painting project in acrylic in the Wednesday afternoon adult class. I am so excited to see the finished results!!

There is soul rejuvenation, relaxation, connection and creative expression with each group gathering.

I typically lead each class with instruction and demonstration while always encouraging play and experimenting with your piece. To learn to trust your intuition while emphasizing focussing on the process not so much the end result. There is so much growth and relaxation with play.

This week was filled with artistic creation and exploration utilizing a diverse range of watercolours.

Here is a sneak at some amazing pieces created in the children and adult classes the last few weeks!

There are a few openings for adult art classes on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 pm. The cost is $40 per week, covering all supplies. Classes are designed to help each discover new skills and techniques through projects that incorporate diverse mediums, styles, and subjects, with an emphasis on the creative journey. Engaging in the creative act can be deeply therapeutic and healing.

In the kids classes here we are inleashjng creativity with fun posters and colourful additions. Letting play and our intuition bring our discoveries in each piece

Time for a catch up on what’s been happening in the studio! Kids classes have been going for a few weeks now and the creative juices are flowing. We have been experimenting with some fabric paints on denim! Check these out!

Thank you to Kathleen Arndt of Hues Art Supply Store for instructing a medium workshop; it was such a valuable learning experience.

As winter approaches, it's a wonderful time to explore your creative side. Starting in October, classes will commence at the Artist Loft on the 44 Trail studio, catering to children aged 8 and above after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Wednesdays, and adults in the evenings. Big belated thank you to Marla with Ingram & Yeadon Accountants for having me do a staff Paint Party. Another amazing experience for me and a great way for all of them to celebrate the end of a busy tax season.

So much to catch up on! 😃 Have to say we have slipped a little on keeping up with posting our latest projects. Have a look at this fun one we did a few weeks ago !!!

We loosened things up this week, starting on a coloured canvas with Acrylic. Here we have some landscapes and florals (are a big favourite!) Both projects done in a two hour sitting. Easy peezy and fun to step back and let go of control.
