🪶 Raising the Tipi for Special Olympics! 🪶

Today was a beautiful reminder of what community, connection, and coming together can accomplish. We had the honour of raising the tipi with Elder One Gun in preparation for the Special Olympics coming to Medicine Hat next week! ❤️

A BIG thank you to the Medicine Hat Skateboard Association, our community members, one of our amazing students and Board of Directors who came out today and gave their time, dedication, hard work, and heart to help make this happen.

Your willingness to lend a hand and be part of creating a welcoming space means so much to us.
From the Indigenous Engagement Student Supports Office, we are incredibly grateful for each of you. Thank you for showing up, helping out, and bringing such positive energy to the day. Sukapii

There’s never a dull moment when community comes together — and we wouldn’t have it any other way! 🧡🪶

Welcome to Medicine Hat, Special Olympics! We’re excited to celebrate with you! ✨

Amazing opportunity today for our team to partner with MHC Indigenous Support Office building a teepee for the Special Olympics Alberta- Medicine Hat

Some great learning and good people.

Another beautiful day spent connecting with the land and harvesting medicines that will support our students and youth throughout the coming year. 🌿☀️

Today was made even more special by sharing this experience with the amazing staff & youth from Kickstand Youth Hub. There is something powerful about learning together on the land—listening, laughing, harvesting with respect, and remembering that these medicines and these places have cared for our people since time immemorial.

The land has been here for thousands of years, holding our stories, teachings, and the footsteps of our ancestors. Every opportunity to learn from her is a true gift.

Grateful for the good company, the beautiful weather, and the chance to continue carrying these teachings forward for the next generation. ❤️🪶🌱

It was a successful day out on the land this past week harvesting medicines for the Indigenous Engagement Student Supports Office. 🌿☀️

There is something so grounding about gathering these gifts in a good way, knowing they will help support our students, ceremonies, and community throughout the upcoming year. Every bundle carries with it prayers, gratitude, and the teachings of those who came before us.

This is just one of many harvesting days planned for the summer, and our hearts are full knowing we are helping ensure our medicine bundles are ready for the year ahead.

So thankful for the land, our ancestors, and the many blessings they continue to provide. ❤️🪶

The “I’m A Kind Man” movement has created powerful spaces for healing, accountability, growth, and community connection over the years. Rooted in the importance of uplifting men, strengthening families, and restoring respectful relationships, this movement continues to inspire positive change in our communities. ❤️

Miywasin Friendship Centre invites everyone to attend the upcoming I’m A Kind Man Community Engagement Session — a chance to listen, learn, share, and be part of meaningful conversations that support wellness, kindness, culture, and unity. These gatherings are more than just meetings; they are opportunities to walk together in a good way and help build stronger futures for the next generations.

Your voice matters. Your presence matters. Together, we continue the work of creating safe, healthy, and empowering spaces for all. Hand to heart ✨
