First Day of School Procedure:
To ensure a smooth and welcoming start to the school year, we have organized a split bussing schedule for the first day:

Grade 7 Students: Attend morning only. This time will be dedicated to meeting teachers, touring the school, and building a sense of community and belonging. All grade 7 students will be picked up in the morning at their regularly scheduled bus time, non-bussing grade 7 students can arrive at school for the 8:10 AM warning bell. Please meet on the basketball court to find your homeroom teacher.
Grade 7 students will load the buses at 12:35 PM for transportation home. Non-busing grade 7 students will be dismissed at 12:30.

Grade 8 and 9 Students: Attend afternoon only. They will be welcomed, meet their teachers, and start to settle into their new schedules. All grade 8 and 9 students bus routes will begin pick up at 12:00 PM, non-bussing grade 8 and 9 students can arrive at school 12:30 PM. Please meet in the gymnasium to find your homeroom teacher.
Grade 8 and 9 students will be picked up by buses at 2:30 PM for transportation home.

Equipment Draw | 2:30 - 4:00 p.m.
Practice | 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.

Football is a 4 day a week commitment with practices scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4:30 - 6:00 p.m. at the Medicine Hat High School Field and games typically scheduled for Thursday evenings.

To our Grade 9 graduates,

Mrs. Bauche and I have loved having the opportunity to teach and get to know you over the past three years. It is never easy to say goodbye, but we are so proud of the young people you have become.

Since we first met, we have watched you grow in maturity, kindness, confidence, and academic success. You have faced challenges, celebrated achievements, and created many memories along the way.

As you move on to high school, and for some of you even a new city, know that we believe in you. We are confident that you will continue to work hard, make a positive impact, and achieve great things.

Thank you for the laughter, the memories, and the privilege of being part of your journey. We wish each of you happiness, success, and exciting new adventures in the years ahead.

It has been an absolute privilege spending the last two years watching each and every one of you grow, laugh, and succeed as a homeroom family. While I am incredibly sad to see you all go, I am so excited to watch you take on the new adventures waiting for you in grade 10. Thank you for always bringing your best selves to our classroom and making every single day an adventure. Remember to keep embracing your wonderful, quirky senses of humor, because that is exactly what is going to make you all shine!

Oh 9D. You are a class with hearts of gold. Thank you for making me laugh everyday. I appreciate how much of a good sport you have been for everything, and I know that you will always remember the difference between meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites. Best of luck as you venture into high school!

From our first day together to the final bell of the year, this homeroom has been a joy to teach.

So many of my favorite moments came from your incredible energy and unique spirit. This was my first year as a Jayhawk, and I couldn't have asked for a better group to compete alongside. I was so proud to see students step up as leaders, even going home to research challenges to ensure our success! That kind of dedication and courage is exactly who you are. We also shared plenty of laughs, a little dancing in chairs, and a lot of eye-rolling over music from Name That Tune to Throwback Thursday. And, of course, the intense Kahoot! and Blooket battles proved just how fiercely competitive—yet wonderfully supportive—you all truly are. You competed with each other but won and lost gracefully, which made me so proud to be your homeroom teacher.

As you head off to high school, I want you to remember that you are genuinely good humans who make the world a better place just by being in it. This year, we studied Marianne Williamson’s poem "Our Deepest Fear," and I hope you carry this line with you into your next chapter: "As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same." Never dim your light.

At the same time, remember that discipline turns talent into ability. You all have the potential to achieve greatness, but you have to be willing to work for it. It will take courage, perseverance, and a commitment to the small things that make a massive difference in the long run—like finishing your homework on time and actually remembering to bring your binder to class!

Thank you for an incredible year, for showing up through the highs and lows, and for making this classroom a brighter place.

To the 9B Jayhawk Cup Champions! This classroom is bursting with individuality. As a class, we were incredibly lucky to have a mix of passionate artists, actors, athletes, and highly dedicated students. Although your dreams of going to Korea didn’t get us across the Pacific, I will miss your enthusiasm and big dreams. Your excitement for sushi Friday's became a tradition in which you looked forward to and I prayed for the staff. I will always remember you as my favorite Monday to Thursday class. I hope you have an amazing summer and wish you the best of luck in grade 10!

Today we celebrate our incredible 9A class as they wrap up their middle school journey. From navigating lockers and the middle school rollercoaster to finding their voices and building lifelong friendships, this group of students has grown in ways we couldn’t be prouder of.
You’ve mastered the art of being late to class while looking incredibly busy, somehow squeezed a year's worth of clutter into a single backpack, and brought a beautiful mix of kindness and chaotic energy to our classroom every single day.
Thank you for the memories and the endless laughs - you are leaving behind a legacy of fun and community. As you head off to high school, remember to stay curious, be kind to yourselves, and never forget where you started.
