This experiential course introduces learners to Indigenous food sovereignty through Haudenosaunee approaches to seasonal harvesting, traditional food systems and land-based practices.
Throughout the nine weeks, learners will participate in hands-on teachings and activities connected to:
π½ Three Sisters agriculture & seed stewardship
πΏ Traditional plant and medicine harvesting
π¦ Sustainable hunting & wildlife stewardship
π Fishing & aquatic food systems
π₯ Traditional food preparation & preservation
𦬠Hide preparation & traditional materials
πΊ Clay harvesting & pottery
π₯ Community cooking & food sharing
π± Indigenous eco-village food systems, including gardens, smokehouses, food storage and composting
Learning happens where these teachings belong β on the land, through practice, relationship and community.
