Hello and welcome to my tutoring page!
My ”about” section briefly introduces who I am but I thought I’d go a little more in detail here.
My name is Melyssa and I’m 28 years old and I have one child of my own. I’m a 4th year Ed student with the U of A. Before I decided to pursue my Ed degree I was an Educational Assistant with LCSD and I loved working with my students but always wanted more. I’ve decided to take on some students for tutoring so that I can gain even more experience working with children and help students in my community.
I have time to take on 4 students each week and I try to limit my weekend slots but do have some available. I have one hour time slots available that will include a focus on Math and ELA, unless you would like me to focus on just one or the other. I do not often have more than one slot available per evening and I’m not available every evening.
My rates are as follows:
K-4: $20/hour
5-9: $25/hour
10+: $30/hour
The reason for these rates is that often the material (especially in Math) gets more difficult and this may cause me to need to brush up on some skills outside of tutoring hours, therefore taking more of my time.
