Dinosaur Stomp Art 🦖🎨
The children have really enjoyed learning all about dinosaurs this month, so today we brought our dinosaur friends into our art activity! For our craft, the children dipped their toy dinosaurs in paint and let them stomp, stomp, stomp across the paper to create their very own dinosaur footprints!
As they created their masterpieces, we talked about the names of the dinosaurs, (T-Rex, Velociraptor, and Triceratops), the colours we used, and the different shapes and sizes of their footprints. The children loved watching their dinosaurs stomp and “roar” all over their papers!
This activity also supported cause-and-effect learning, as the children discovered that pressing and moving the dinosaurs through the paint created different prints on their paper. It encouraged hand-eye coordination, fine-motor control, and sensory exploration as they dipped, positioned, and moved their dinosaurs. A fun, hands-on way to combine art, learning, and prehistoric play!
