What are you saying to yourself? There’s two ways to talk to yourself….one is POSITIVE!

More practice can expose a problem: but it won’t always solve it.

For young rodeo athletes, the limiter may be hip strength, trunk control, balance, reaction speed, or the ability to recover between efforts. If that quality breaks down under pressure, adding more rides can reinforce the same faulty position and increase fatigue.

A smarter progression looks like this:

1️⃣ Identify what fails first.
2️⃣ Train that quality with purpose.
3️⃣ Return to skill work when the athlete can control the movement.

The goal isn’t simply more exposure. The goal is making every ride more productive.

Parents and athletes: send this to a young rodeo athlete who needs to build the physical qualities behind their performance. Train the gap first. Then let the practice count.

You guys that think getting off and landing on your feet is cool….. Bulls know where a) the tips of their horns are, and b) exactly where they’re kicking.

Stay low until you’re far enough away.
