Today, one of our butterflies finally emerged!

When I arrived at work this morning and did my usual check, it was still a perfectly intact chrysalis. Then, in what felt like the blink of an eye, it had transformed into a butterfly.

Unfortunately, for reasons we don’t know, this little butterfly had fallen to the ground while forming its chrysalis. Because it wasn’t hanging in the proper position, its wings were unable to fully unfold when it emerged. As a result, it won’t be able to fly freely like the other butterflies.

There is a touch of sadness in that, but more importantly—it is alive.

It lay in the mesh habitat I had prepared for the caterpillars, its wings pressed against the bottom as it worked hard to move its tiny legs and turn itself over. I gently offered my index finger, and it grasped it tightly. Slowly, I moved it toward the side of the enclosure. With great determination, it climbed upward step by step and finally settled there, quietly fluttering its misshapen wings as it adjusted to its brand-new world.

Today, the children and I had the privilege of witnessing the birth of a butterfly. We also witnessed something even more beautiful—the courage, resilience, and determination of life itself. 🦋✨

Butterfly Life Cycle

Today the children and I did a fun little science experiment!

We had a round bottle cap that was bigger than a square hole in the paper, so at first it could not fit through. But when we gently bent the paper, the hole became bigger, and suddenly the cap could pass through easily!

The children were so surprised and excited to try it again and again. Through this simple activity, they discovered that bending and changing shapes can also change space. A tiny experiment, but a wonderful moment of learning and discovery!

All the other caterpillars have already tucked themselves into their “sleeping bags” and are patiently waiting to become butterflies. These two mischievous little ones, however, are still lagging behind—apparently they’re not quite ready to stop playing and grow up just yet! 🐛😄🦋

🦋 Our little caterpillars have reached an exciting milestone!

The children have been able to observe each stage of the butterfly life cycle—from a tiny newly hatched caterpillar, to the amazing J-shape stage, and now to a beautiful chrysalis.

At this moment, the chrysalis is quietly transforming inside. Soon, a butterfly will emerge and begin a brand-new journey. When that special day arrives, we will take the children outdoors to gently release the butterflies back into nature.

What a wonderful way to learn about growth, patience, and the beauty of God’s creation. 🌿✨
