🚣 What makes a great rowing team? Supporting each other every step of the way.
Well done to our rowers at ! Klaudia powered through three rounds to reach the WJ15 1x final, while Year 7s rowers, Himmat (Yr 9) and Ayaan (Yr 10) enjoyed their first competitive race.
One of the best things about our rowing programme is the way students from every year group work together, encouraging, supporting and learning from one another. It's a brilliant example of teamwork, resilience and building friendships beyond their own year groups.
Well done to everyone who represented the school so brilliantly! πŸ’™

🎀 What happens when young people find the confidence to speak their truth?
This year's Speak Up Challenge finalists tackled some of the biggest issues facing society and young people today with courage, honesty and conviction.
From challenging racism in football and exploring the cost of silence, to championing equality in sport, examining family identity, questioning society's obsession with numbers, and discussing the pressures of social media, wellbeing and self-worth, our students inspired us all.
They reminded us that:
✨ Racism has consequences and change starts with us.
✨ Silence can cost lives.
✨ Ability should never be overshadowed by stereotypes.
✨ Family is not always defined by blood.
✨ Numbers can measure, but they should never define us.
✨ Mistakes do not define who we are.
✨ No one should have to suffer in silence.
✨ The greatest courage can be found in simply being yourself.
Standing in front of the entire school takes immense bravery, but through meticulous preparation, practice and determination, every finalist spoke with passion, authenticity and purpose. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of you. πŸ’™

✈️ What could your future career look like?
Our students were inspired by a visit from British Airways, exploring the many pathways into aviation through apprenticeships, work insight days, mentoring and career opportunities.
A special thank you to former TLA student Mia, who shared her journey on the British Airways apprenticeship programme. Now 9 months into her Business Administration apprenticeship, she hopes to build a career in HR and showed students how apprenticeships can open doors to exciting futures.
Students also heard from Reeni about her experience working in IT at BA and took part in an interactive quiz and design challenge, discovering more about the scale of the airline industry, from passengers and planes to the huge variety of careers available.
Thank you, Mia and Reeni, for helping our students think big about their futures. βœˆοΈπŸ’™

🎢 What happens when young voices find their confidence? They become unstoppable!

For the third year running, Heritage Harmonies proudly performed at the Slough Music Service Showcase, themed Our World, Our Voice. From Waving Flag to Unstoppable, our singers shone brightly, with Zuzanna delivering a stunning solo performance of Don't Stop Believin' in front of an audience of 2,000+ after a successful audition.

We've loved being part of your journey, Zuzanna! πŸ’™ A huge thank you to Mr Clark for leading the children to the Hexagon and to every performer for their hard work and dedication during rehearsals. Thank you to Slough Music Service for inviting Heritage Harmonies back once again, we hope to be singing with you again next year! 🎀

πŸ… What does it take to become a national champion... and an aspiring Olympian?
Our students were inspired by javelin thrower Michael Allison, who shared his journey, training, nutrition and the dedication behind elite sport. They also enjoyed a live training session and Q&A, giving them a real insight into life as a top athlete.
A special shout-out to Karam, who raised an incredible Β£325 towards our Β£2,266 fundraising total. πŸ‘
Thank you, Michael, for inspiring our students to aim high both on and off the field. πŸ’™

❀️ How healthy is your heart? ❀️
Sports Week wasn't just about keeping our children active, it was also a chance to focus on the health and wellbeing of our whole community.
As part of our Healthy Happy Hearts initiative, staff were encouraged to take a moment for their own health, while parents attending Sports Day were able to access free blood pressure checks and advice.
A huge thank you to Lesha, Samah, Zainab, Kevin and Pam for helping us promote healthy lifestyles and supporting our families to take positive steps towards better health. πŸ’™
