Better Beginnings Early Learning & Child Care

We are very fortunate to have many beautiful areas to explore and engage with nature within walking distance of our centre. This morning, our preschool room spent time on a nature walk along the Elizabeth Lake trails when they came across a bat house, and were able to take a glimpse inside a hollow tree. This experience was a valuable one for them, and will surely inspire new interests for the children and educators to explore further.

🌟 Vicky 🌟
Always bringing a positive & welcoming smile to our day, we have Vicky, one of our amazing educators, whose warmth and years of experience make her a wonderful part of our team, I think any parent of the children in her room would agree she loves those babies as if they were her own. She brings calm to any storm with her gentle problem solving, empathy and compassion towards our tiniest friends at the centre.

💛 What she loves about working in daycare:
For Vicky, there’s nothing better than watching the kids grow and helping them learn new things. Seeing those “lightbulb moments” makes every day rewarding!

🎸🛍️ Outside of work, you might catch Vicky out shopping or enjoying some live music, she loves going to concerts and having a good time!

👩‍👧‍👦 At home, she’s a proud mom to two awesome kids: a 17-year-old son and a 12-year-old daughter who keeps her busy and smiling.

🎯 Future goals?
In her words: “I’m just trying to make it through the day 😅” and honestly, we respect that! Sometimes, showing up with heart and humor is exactly what makes someone a rockstar educator.

👶 Fun fact:
Vicky spent over 20 years as a nanny before joining our daycare world, caring for kids has always been her calling!

🌟 Stephanie 🌟

We are so proud to spotlight Stephanie, one of our fantastic educators here at the daycare! Her role at the centre is unique as a one to one aid for children that may require some extra love and attention, which she has proven to be her area of expertise. Her growth over the last year has been incredible and we cannot wait to see what the coming years will bring for Stephanie!

👶 Why she loves working in daycare:
Stephanie finds so much joy in watching children grow, whether it’s reaching new developmental milestones or discovering their unique talents and skills. Every day brings something new and exciting!

🚴‍♀️ Outside of work, Stephanie is always on the move! You might catch her working out, hiking, biking, or enjoying a creative project through crafting, cooking, or baking. She’s also a big movie fan and loves going to the theatre with her boyfriend to watch all kinds of films. 🎬🍿

🏡 About her family:
Stephanie lives with her boyfriend of 4 years and their two adorable cats and brand new kitten. Her immediate family is in Alberta, and she makes trips to Manitoba every few years to visit extended family, with a little love for BC in there too!

🎯 Future goals?
One of her goals is to run a marathon or fun run with confidence, we’re cheering her on every step of the way! 🏃‍♀️💪

📚 Fun fact: Stephanie is a huge history buff and loves spending time in museums. (If you ever need a fun historical fact, she’s your go-to!)

We’re are so happy to be able to share our thoughts on Alyssa, she is our go to person whether it be for educator coaching, kitchen staff, centre mainenance. She is a wonderful asset to our centre.

💬 Favourite part of working in daycare?
Alyssa is passionate about understanding the minds of the little people at our centre, she offers wonderful strategies to help run a calm and smooth classroom, her favourite is risky play allowing children to build confidence with taking safe and
calculated risks💡💕

🏔️ When she's not at work, you’ll probably find Alyssa enjoying the outdoors, car camping, climbing anything she can, fixing something, and recently taking up dirt biking. Alyssa is always looking to take on a new project or hobbies, as long as she can be outside. 🌲

🎯 Alyssa’s future goals include continuing her education as an educator, further her experiences in all aspects of child care, & embracing new adventures where ever she goes 💛

🌟 Justina 🌟

We are thrilled to introduce one of our wonderful team members, Justina. Justina joined our team as a brand new educator and she absolutely understood the assignment, she has fully embraced the educator role and is increasing her knowledge in Early Learning every day. Justina brings warmth, creativity, and care to our daycare every day! 💛

She's a proud mom to two beautiful daughters, Rhiannon (5) and Tallulah (1) and shares her home with a furry companion, Spike the dog!

💄Outside of work, you might find Justina doing lashes or spending quality time with her kids. She loves staying busy and being hands-on both at work and at home!

Dylan brings passion, experience, and a big heart to our daycare family. One of her favourite parts of the job is supporting children’s social and emotional development , she loves helping little ones grow in confidence, communication, and kindness every day.

🏕 Outside of work, you’ll likely find her camping, walking, practicing gymnastics, or soaking up the great outdoors. She's all about staying active and embracing adventure!

🐶Dylan recently moved to the area, with Harriet, her puppy, and they’re excited to explore their new community together.

She’s passionate about lifelong learning and plans to continue her education to become the best educator she can be.
