🔧𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞 – 𝐅𝟏𝟖 𝐄𝐕𝐎⛵
In 2024, we launched an extensive F18 EVO testing initiative in collaboration with Performance Sails and a dedicated team of Nacra sailors. Over the winter in NL 🇳🇱, we ran a two-boat testing program—including boats from other manufacturers—to benchmark performance and push development forward.
🎯 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹? Better upwind performance and making the boat easier to handle, especially in tough conditions. Based on the results, we’ve created an updated tuning guide!
🆕 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱?
• 🪁 Mainsail Design
Redesigned with a revised depth, position and profile to provide a greater tuning range. This results in a more controllable leech and improved twist profile. Additionally, the dimensions have been slightly adjusted to ensure consistent contact with the wing trampoline in all conditions both upwind and downwind.
• 🌀 Jib Design
Now features a deeper profile, generating more power and offering better support to the mainsail. Its dimensions have also been refined to improve the aerodynamic flow between the jib and mainsail, enhancing overall efficiency.
• 📏 Boom Gooseneck Position
Repositioned higher on the mast. This change improves mainsheet response and offers greater power control.
• 🛠️ Spreader Width
Made wider to reduce mast compression. This adjustment creates a smoother mast bend, improving performance both upwind and downwind.
• 🎯 Boom Outhaul
Now equipped with an adjustable outhaul system, providing sailors with easier and more precise sail trim control while sailing.
