🚨 New Blog Post: The Hidden Crisis in Plain Sight 🚨
Elder abuse remains one of the most underrecognized and underreported issues affecting older adults today. Despite its serious consequences, it often remains hidden behind stigma, fear, caregiving dynamics, and societal ageism. Research suggests that many cases of elder abuse are never reported, making it difficult to fully understand its prevalence and impact.
In our latest blog post, our Director, Dr. John Puxty, explores why elder abuse continues to remain hidden and examines the social, systemic, and relational factors that sustain it. The article challenges us to look beyond individual incidents and consider the broader conditions that allow abuse to persist. The blog highlights the importance of awareness, education, community engagement, and coordinated action in preventing elder abuse and supporting older adults' rights, dignity, and well-being.
