QTSA - Queen's Tamil Students' Association

In collaboration with 16 Tamil Student Associations, we, as Tamil Youth Organization Canada, stand in solidarity while we remember our Black Tigers who made the ultimate sacrifice to progress our freedom struggle, and remember the injustices that have happened to our people both in the past and present. We pay our respects and mourn the victims of the Black July anti-Tamil pogrom.

Today is Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day. This also brings us to the end of Education Week, however that doesn't mean we should stop educating about and maintaining awareness of the Tamil Genocide and other genocides both in our world history and present day.

Tamil Genocide Education Week, established by Bill 104, provides Eelam Tamils with a chance to remember, honour, and speak up in honour of those who suffered during the Tamil Genocide.

To be involved in the Tamil Genocide Educational Week, you can organize or attend events such as educational seminars, panel discussions, and memorial services. You can engage in activism by spreading awareness on social media, signing petitions, writing to lawmakers to support the bill, and joining advocacy groups dedicated to justice and accountability. Additionally, supporting and amplifying Tamil voices and narratives can help in acknowledging and commemorating the atrocities committed during the civil war in Sri Lanka.

Join QTSA in shedding light on the Tamil genocide and amplifying the voices of Tamil Eelam’s enduring struggles. Together, let’s raise awareness and advocate for justice.
