Excited to start a research project soon with RoCo Industries. Their innovative solar PV siding will be installed on Energy House 2.0 at our Kingston campus -- one of several innovative technologies being integrated into the new classroom and research space this summer.

Integrated Energy Systems Lab Fully Operational 07/05/2017

The Integrated Energy Systems Lab (IESL), an advanced performance testing centre is now fully operational. The IESL provides innovative services for energy components and systems for Canadian Industry partners. We partner with local distribution companies, energy organizations and educational institutions to assist in the development of innovative products and services. Research is conducted by St. Lawrence College students, faculty and staff. The IESL was funded by: Canada Foundation for Innovation, Ontario Research Fund and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

SEARC Student Research Assistants Cedric Pepelea and Russell Horne will be giving a presentation at the November 6th SWITCH meeting on Grounds to Heat: Recycling Coffee Grounds into Home Heating Pellets. Cedric and Russell will be joined by Michael Tkautz, founder of Green City Initiatives. Construction has started on the Outdoor Solar Inverter Test Facility (OSITF). TMR Construction Ltd (Kingston) began the site preparation work earlier this week. Ron Groves of Plug’n Drive gets a battery charge for his Chevrolet Volt from the electric vehicle (EV) charging station at St. Lawrence College. The SEARC Open Solar Outdoor Test Field (OSOTF) provides solar derived electricity to partially power these EV chargers. Plug’n Drive is a not for profit, electric vehicle advocacy group.
