Dear Kimberley,
Sadly, the time has come for Small Batch to close our doors. It has been a remarkable privilege to be a part of this community and spend time learning outside with your kiddos. In the last (nearly) 2 years, we have skied, snowshoed, hiked, roasted marshmallows, toured , visited , drove heavy machinery operations days, planted gardens, baked bread, built forts and danced our way into the generous hearts of the Kimberley alpine community.
We are so grateful for the opportunity to introduce the littlest members of our community to the great outdoors. A massive thank you to , especially the incredible Shawna Crawford. Without them, Small Batch couldn’t have been. 😘
Thank you Kimberley!

Thanks for this reminder that sensitive kids are often the ones that stun us with their perceptions and awareness. It’s something to nurture and hold safe.

When given the opportunity to learn, kids always dive in. in dove under the wharf and brought up for inspection all kinds of cool sea creatures - sea stars, urchins, and other ocean friends
- before gently returning them to their home.
Hands-on, heart-full learning like this shows just how powerful an enriched environment can be.

This is a beautiful reminder to slow down and let children simply be. It’s so heartwarming to watch little ones show care for others, express their creativity, or solve problems in their own unique ways. But what we often forget is that these moments are the result of so much unseen work—play, exploration, and quiet growth—that might look like ‘nothing’ to us as adults but is absolutely essential to their process.
has a fantastic new book out all about Play. Thanks, as always, to for sharing such important information.
