Students stand together to end inequality On Thursday afternoon, students from all over School District 23 headed over to Kelowna Secondary School (KSS) for an event put on the Global Awarenes.

We are so excited to announce that our club is organizing and hosting the We for She Kelowna Conference. On April 13, fifty grade 11&12 students from each SD23 public school will come together at KSS for a day of inspiration and education about gender equality in the workplace.

Our annual Coffeehouse is 1 week away!! Join us in the MPR anytime after 6pm to enjoy the cosy environment, live performances, snacks and board games. Your $10 at the door will help us cover costs for the gender equality conference we are hosting in Spring 2017. 😊

KSS Global Awareness Club had a fundraiser today allowing fury loved ones to dress up in costume while going on a walk through Mission Creek Dog Park in the spirit of Halloween! Donations raised will be going to Kelowna based Mary Ellen Humane Society's, Shake a Paw program, which helps traumatized youth to work with rescue dogs and train them into adoptable pets.

Thursday was such a beautiful day for a Veggie BBQ! Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed a cheap and healthy lunch!

Tomorrow is the debut of our Monthly Vegan Meals Initiative! We are selling meals that are free of animal products at the cheapest possible price to spread awareness about the detrimental effects that animal agriculture has on the environment. Our homemade Black Bean Burgers will be sold for $3 with optional vegan mayo and guacamole for $1 extra, see you at the front of the school at lunch.
