Obesity, insulin resistance (prediabetes), and type 2 diabetes are interconnected conditions with adverse effects on metabolic health, increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease and cognitive decline. Here at EMIL we conduct research to: 1) Understand the mechanisms and consequences of chronic inflammation; and 2) determine how different diet and exercise strategies impact cardiometabolic health and inflammatory status in individuals with, and at risk for, type 2 diabetes.
