If you're a PN student in Ontario or BC and you've been staring at study materials wondering which one is actually yours โ this one's for you.
โ
You write the REx-PN. Ontario and BC only.
โ The CPNRE is the rest of Canada.
โ The NCLEX-PN is American โ and its scope of practice is different from ours.
Here's the part that surprises people: if you're borrowing NCLEX materials, the RN version is usually the safer choice, not the PN one. Our faculty explains why in the full guide.
Everything you need to know about the REx-PN โ format, content, registration, cost, retakes, pass rates โ in one place. Link ๐ : https://bit.ly/4xHE1RG

Answer: Although the computer scores as you take the test, no official results will be available at the test center. (test centers do not have access to your results)
โ
You will receive your official results within 6 weeks of taking your exam.
โ
Youโre not supposed to call the NCSBN, Pearson VUE Candidate Services or the test center for results. Just wait!
โ
If for some reason more than six weeks have passed and you havenโt received your results, contact BCCNM or CNO and they will help you!
โ
We strongly advise you to practice as much as possible before the big day. Use a mock exam that replicates the real exam format so you can be prepared and confident.

Wednesday review! Endocrinology for the REx-PNยฎ Regulatory Exam โ Practical Nurse ๐ง
A patient is experiencing the Dawn phenomenon. Which of the following best describes the cause of this phenomenon?
A. Hypoglycemia occurs in response to the bedtime insulin
B. Insulin will peak in the middle of the night, leading to a rebound hyperglycemia
C. Blood glucose lowers at 0500โ0600 hours
D. Results from a nighttime release of growth hormone and cortisol
Answer: D. Results from a nighttime release of growth hormone and cortisol
These two complications are often mixed up and confusing to understand. Using a chart or graph is very helpful. Since insulin lowers blood sugar, โso muchโ insulin relates to hypoglycemia, whereas lower insulin โdown insulinโ relates to elevated blood sugar levels.
