Those with learning disabilities can use assistive technology to overcome barriers, the same way a person with a visual impairment uses glasses to see clearly, or a wheelchair user uses a ramp to access a building. Assistive technology doesn't change a person's underlying abilities; instead, it removes environmental and structural barriers to ensure equal access and opportunity.
