Grade 4 had an amazing day exploring Fort Normandeau! Students learned about how Indigenous Peoples hunted buffalo and used every part of the animal to support their communities. They also discovered the important role of the Métis people in the fur trade and explored the many jobs and responsibilities that helped shape life in the region.
It was a wonderful opportunity to connect classroom learning with Alberta’s rich history and deepen our understanding of Indigenous and Métis cultures. 🦬🦫🦴🌲

The Grade 2 class had a fantastic day exploring local history! First, they toured the historic Stephansson House near Markerville, where they learned about the life and legacy of Icelandic poet Stephan G. Stephansson. Then it was off to the Hola School, a one-room schoolhouse, where students experienced what school was like in 1927. From old-fashioned lessons to stepping back in time. Then we were off to the Markerville Creamery. It
was a fun and educational adventure for everyone. What a great day of learning and discovery! 📚🏫✨
