We have a lot of changes in progress around here and as such I was only able to offer one camp experience this year that was full before I knew if I was going to be able to offer any. So thankful for the support and investment in my little program from families. When I decided to create this space I didn't know if it would work or if families would connect with what I was trying to create, the response has been overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who reached out about the program and camps this year, though I wasn't able to open the space up to as many children as I would have liked to, your feedback has shown me that families do 'get it' and want more of this for their children. This picture was from our first day together at this year's Magic in the Forest camp. Pretty magical (bugs and all).

Bubble bath in the sunshine sort of day β˜€οΈ This started with the children using the bubble wands they made to try and create "huge" bubbles, and evolved into them mixing and whisking the bubbles into foam so they "could take a bubble bath". While the 3 sat in the tub O and O collected dandelions and leaves to "turn the water yellow" πŸ’§

Seeing the different ways children create using loose parts is so interesting to me! They are so creative, so innovative, so intentional, and their process just flows! Little sculptures created using string, pine cones, pastels, elastic bands, and tree "cookies"🌳πŸͺ

They discovered a suitcase full of suitcases in the upstairs closet and played travel games using them all afternoon (perfect for a rainy day!). They each claimed one, packed what they needed inside, and buckled themselves in for the ride. They traveled to "Disney" with their "free samples" and to "Ottawa" to "play in the snow with Nana" and to "Hawaii" to see "volcanos". Their play was so fluid -- moving and shifting so beautifully with one another. And it all started with an old suitcase πŸ’•

Dandelion fritters being prepared by the children for our morning "brunch" snack. A few of the children enjoy raw dandelions and when I saw this recipe from .froese I thought it would be a fun and different way to eat these delicious and plentiful flowers. And even better, the children could do almost all of the preparation themselves 🌱

"Surfboarding" break πŸ„β€β™€οΈ They have put so much time and thought and energy into creating their workshop and I have done nothing. THEY collected old shingles to make tiles for the floor, THEY dragged large pieces of wood over to create a frame, and THEY collected brush to fill in the roof. It has been a true collaboration between them and they still have a few bedrooms to add...and so much more I'm sure 🌱
