Heart With Wings is hosting the Henry and Friends Fundraiser, September 26th at their office on Bayview Drive, and we’d love to see our community there.

It’s an afternoon of connection, remembrance, and support for pet families, with funds going to the Henry and Friends Memorial Fund, helping families access palliative care, end-of-life support, and remembrance for their pets. For anyone who has lost a pet, it’s a time when support can make all the difference.

When you lose a pet, the world doesn’t always understand. Events like this one make sure families know they’re not alone.

September arrives, and something shifts. 🍂

The long days are shorter now. The warmth is pulling back. And for families who are grieving, this season can bring something unexpected—the first autumn without them, or maybe the tenth, and somehow it can catch you off guard.

A few things that help when grief gets autumnal:

🌿 Let yourself feel the season instead of pushing through it
🌿 Tend to something living. A plant, a garden, anything that grows
🌿 Take a day to make that recipe they loved, that bring back memories
🌿 Let people know you’re thinking of them, even if you don’t know what to say
🌿 Remind yourself the leaves coming down simply means things will grow again
