May 5th is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and two-spirit People (MMIWG2S). The National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, in its 2019 report, said the crisis constitutes a genocide of Indigenous people. Take the time to educate yourself by reading the National Inquiry. Look into seminars, and workshops. Attend your local march for MMIWG2+. Support indigenous companies that have MMIW clothing, or wear red! Indigenous women are 12 times more likely to be murdered or go missing than other women in Canada. Our people deserve justice, protection, and a better, more educated world.
