Our seniors deserve better. The funding formula for nursing homes should be related to the amount of care needed, not simply the number of residents. 💚

Six minutes..
That’s what the Holt government’s latest $2.6 million investment amounts to in additional care for each nursing home resident, according to the New Brunswick Association of Nursing Homes.
Six minutes more per day!!

Residents are bathed only once a week, and sometimes wait until 10pm to be helped into bed because the care time funded for each patient is inadequate.

I think most of us would agree that this is unacceptable. Since 2020, we’ve called for an increase in the number of care hours to 4.1 hours per resident and more permanent full time staff and nursing coverage around the clock.

We believe seniors deserve better, much better!

C’est à cela que correspond le dernier investissement de 2,6 millions de dollars du gouvernement Holt en soins supplémentaires pour chaque résident de foyer de soins, selon l’Association des foyers de soins du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Six minutes de plus par jour !!

Les résidents ne sont lavés qu’une fois par semaine et doivent parfois attendre jusqu’à 22 h pour être aidés à se coucher, car le temps de soins alloué à chaque patient est insuffisant.

Je pense que la plupart d’entre nous s’accorderaient à dire que cela est inacceptable.
Depuis 2020, nous réclamons une augmentation du nombre d’heures de soins à 4,1 heures par résident, ainsi qu’un renforcement des effectifs permanents à temps plein et une couverture infirmière 24 heures sur 24.

Nous estimons que les aînés méritent mieux, bien mieux !

Please consider signing this petition. I don’t understand why our government is impeding the installation of household solar. It just doesn’t make sense (or cents). 💚

What happened to the solar retrofit program promised to New Brunswickers by the Holt government?

Two years after that commitment was made, we're still waiting...⌛

Yet last week, Premier Holt told CBC:

“If we want to see solar programs and solar adoption grow, then that shouldn't fall onto N.B. Power. It should fall onto the government of New Brunswick, because it's in our collective best interest to have more renewable, clean, and non-emitting energy.”

Exactly!

If solar adoption is in our collective best interest, it's time to deliver on that promise.

Qu’est-il arrivé au programme provincial pour les améliorations solaire promis aux Néo-Brunswickois par le gouvernement Holt?

Pourtant, la semaine dernière, la première ministre Holt a dit à CBC :

« Si nous voulons voir les programmes solaires et l’adoption de l’énergie solaire prendre de l’ampleur, cela ne devrait pas relever d’Énergie NB. Cela devrait relever du gouvernement du Nouveau-Brunswick, parce qu’il est dans notre intérêt collectif d’avoir davantage d’énergie renouvelable, propre et sans émissions. »

Exactement!

Si l’adoption de l’énergie solaire est dans notre intérêt collectif, il est temps de respecter cette promesse.

Thank you David C**n for your years of dedication to the people of New Brunswick.

Although you are stepping down as leader of the Green Party NB / Parti vert NB, I know you will continue to represent your constituents. They are lucky to have you as their MLA. 💚

Today I announced that I will be stepping down as Leader of the Green Party of New Brunswick in the coming months once a contest is held to elect a new leader. And I will continue to serve the people of Fredericton Lincoln in the Legislature.

It has been an honour to serve the people of New Brunswick, and my party in my capacity as a political leader in our province. It’s time for a new leader before the next election. I want to make sure they have close to two years to prepare the Party for its next electoral breakthrough.

I couldn’t have achieved anything without the support of so many dedicated members, donors, volunteers, staff and those who stepped up to serve on our Provincial Council. And of course my Deputy Leader Megan Mitton and Kevin Arseneau, who was my Acadian lieutenant for six years. I am forever indebted to you and your families in so many ways. Thank you!

J’ai annoncé aujourd’hui que je quitterai mes fonctions de chef du Parti vert du Nouveau-Brunswick dans les mois à venir, une fois qu’une élection aura été organisée pour désigner un nouveau chef ou une nouvelle cheffe. Je continuerai toutefois à représenter les électeurs de Fredericton Lincoln à l’Assemblée législative.

Ce fut un honneur de servir la population du Nouveau-Brunswick et mon parti en tant que chef politique de notre province. Il est temps qu’un nouveau chef prenne la relève avant les prochaines élections. Je tiens à m’assurer qu’il dispose de près de deux ans pour préparer le Parti à sa prochaine percée électorale.

Je n’aurais rien pu accomplir sans le soutien de tant de membres dévoués, de donateurs, de bénévoles, de membres du personnel et de ceux qui se sont portés volontaires pour siéger à notre Conseil provincial. Et bien sûr, ma vice-présidente Megan Mitton et Kevin Arseneau, qui a été mon bras droit acadien pendant six ans. Je vous suis éternellement redevable, à vous et à vos familles, à bien des égards.
