Money can carry fear, desire, shame, security, power and care.

In this Soma teaching, money is understood as energy. Its movement becomes meaningful when held between wisdom and compassion.

Wisdom asks:

What is sustainable?
What boundary is needed?
What am I supporting through this choice?

Compassion asks:

What supports life?
Where can I contribute?
How can I care without abandoning myself?

Balance is not clinging to everything or giving without limits. It is learning how to receive, hold, use and share energy with greater awareness.

Where could your relationship with money use more wisdom—or more compassion?

Every child enters a world shaped by family patterns, culture, relationships, technology and uncertainty.

We may not be able to remove every difficulty from a child’s life. But we can create conditions that help them remain connected to their body, experience emotional support and gradually develop greater freedom and direction.

Raising Happy & Whole Children in a Turbulent World is a ten-workshop online program with Dr. Jivasu.

Thursdays, October 8–December 10
11:00 AM–2:00 PM EST
$250 CAD

The first workshop begins next week. Registration is available now.

Why can change feel difficult even when we understand what needs to change?

Because habits and patterns are not only ideas. They have been repeated across the brain and body over time.

Insight can begin a shift. But embodied change often asks for practice, patience and enough inner energy to meet a pattern at the level where it is lived.

This is one of the questions we will explore during the Science of Somatic Transformation Conference, presented by Soma Path and SHEN.

October 24–25, 2026
Eight live online sessions
Recordings included
Free to attend

You can know a great deal about the body and still feel far away from it.

Somatic Practices begin with something more immediate: sensing breath, pressure, warmth, movement and tension as they are happening.

Science uses the term interoception for the nervous system’s sensing and integration of signals from within the body. These signals contribute to our feelings, our awareness of our needs and how we respond to what is happening around us.

Research also shows that voluntary slow breathing can influence autonomic activity, including heart-rate variability.

Soma brings these elements into direct practice—not to force or perfect the body, but to listen more closely.

Somatic Practice with Jivasu begins October 13 and is included with the Soma Membership. Membership includes weekly live classes, all self-study programs and Soma TV for $29/month.

It is easy to treat the ego as something we need to eliminate.

Soma takes a different view.

The ego - our functional identity - helps us live, relate, establish boundaries and find stability in the world. Going beyond identity does not begin by weakening it. It begins by understanding it and supporting it to become healthy.

Healthy Somatic Identity is a self-study program exploring five foundations of a healthy identity:

Self-care
Care for others
Healthy boundaries
Trust
Quest

Not every cry asks for the same response. But crying can communicate hunger, discomfort, fatigue, pain or a need for care.

In Soma’s parenting approach, responsive care is part of Nesting. The practice is not about reacting perfectly to every sound. It is about becoming more attentive to what the child may be communicating and responding appropriately.

A child’s signals are not simply interruptions. They are part of the child’s developing relationship with the body, the family and the world.

Children learn their relationship with the body partly through how the adults around them respond.

In Soma, the body is the doorway to our connection with ourselves, other people and nature. Parenting is therefore not only about teaching behaviour. It can also help preserve a child’s ability to notice their signals, feelings and needs.

This body connection is one foundation of raising a happy and whole child.

Trauma is not always one dramatic event. It can also involve inherited patterns, early experiences, abuse or the long pressure to conform to roles that disconnect us from ourselves.

In Soma, trauma is understood not only through the story of what happened, but through how that experience continues to live in our relationship with the body.

Somatic Awareness & Transformation Training is a 100-hour online immersion in Soma’s teachings and somatic practices.

The next cohort begins September 26, 2026. This is the final week to register.

Investment: $490 CAD
Payment plan available with a $175 CAD deposit.
No prior somatic, yoga, therapy or teaching experience required.

Technology can do more for us while we experience less of life directly.

Soma distinguishes between virtual experience and felt experience. Images, information and stimulation may hold our attention, but life is encountered through the body and our contact with the living world.

The answer is not to reject technology. It is to maintain practices that bring us back—from the virtual world to the body, sensation and nature.

Raising a happy and whole child is not about protecting them from every difficulty.

Soma’s Nesting and Wings approach brings together two essential forms of care: security and freedom. Nesting helps preserve the child’s connection with the body, emotional safety and unique nature. Wings give them room to explore, make mistakes and discover their own path.

The goal is not to shape every child into the same ideal. It is to care for the individual who is already there.
