Its hard job searching and not hearing back from potential employers after applying for jobs, or hearing back with 'you were not the successful applicant'. I'm here to say 'DON'T give up'!. I know this from personal experience from applying for job after job, no response for a year, nearly giving up...but then 1 manager saw my reume, experience and value and hired me! It just takes finding that 1 manager/person.

There were moments in my own immigration journey where I felt completely invisible. Like I was doing everything right — and still hitting walls I didn't even know were there.

Nobody handed me a roadmap. I had to find the path by feeling around in the dark. I think about that a lot when I work with internationally educated nurses.

Because you're not just dealing with a licensing process.

You're dealing with a new country, a new system, sometimes a new language — all while trying to prove yourself in a profession you've dedicated your life to. That's not a small thing.

That's enormous.

I've met nurses who ran ICUs, and other brilliant nurses, in their home country.

In Canada, they're working as care aides.

Not because they aren't good enough.
Because no one mapped the licensing process for them in a way that actually made sense — and months became years.

That's the thing that keeps me going every single day.

The most common NCLEX study mistake I see: studying the content without practising the question FORMAT.

The Next Generation NCLEX has 6 new question types:

✦ Cloze drop down
✦ Enhanced hotspot
✦ Highlight table
✦ Bow-tie
