It is not always popular because it drives many parents nuts... what is that ? Hearing "I'm bored!"
And it is one of the big reasons, we accumulate toys or put our kids on screens... because it stops the whining. However, it's been a while that psychologists and neuroscientist and many educators (like myself) say that boredom can be amazing if you let it happen.
To be exact it is not boredom that creates anything but it is the reaction we have when faced with boredom that can give an OPPORTUNITY for our brain to let ideas đź’ˇ be free.
Last year I made a podcast episode on the subject and I am strong on my position that : when bored, my kids get creative, they craft, draw, decide to go out, play life, build forts, get the gym mats out or just dance it out.
Parent tip, boredom is the fertile soil for creativity, kids, parenting.
