When Cole and I decided to make our wedding a surprise, there were two things that were completely non-negotiable: Maple had to be there, and it had to be at home.
Because a home is never really made of things. It’s made of moments, memories, and emotions.
It’s the laughter that carries down the hallways, the long and difficult days after work—especially in our line of work—the familiar pitter-patter of Maple’s paws, and the smell of something delicious cooking on a slow weekend morning.
Home is sacred to us. It’s where we have built our life together, where we have found comfort on the hard days and celebrated the beautiful ones. It holds the little pieces of our story that could never be captured by walls or possessions.
So there was no more meaningful place to celebrate our marriage than the place we already call home, surrounded by some of the people we love most—and, of course, Maple.
