We all have an inner critic.
It's especially strong when learning to play an instrument.
It tries to convince you that you are not good enough, not talented enough, not smart enough to succeed.
Most of us don't even realize how much this is happening.
But it's a major factor in your success.
The secret is to learn to ignore that voice.
You can become a good player if you make the decision and commit to it.
I see proof of this every day.

Guitar, piano and bass are a struggle for most beginners.
The main problem is trying to teach yourself (online, with apps, etc).
I did the same when I first started with guitar and I also struggled.
Why?
You get no feedback on your playing so you never really know if you are doing it right.
There are more wrong ways than right ways so chances are you are not doing it right.
You can make more progress in less time by finding the right teacher to help you.

“IF WE ARE GROWING WE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE OUTSIDE OUR COMFORT ZONE.” - JOHN MAXWELL
When it comes to guitar, piano or bass, most beginners think they should sound like a pro right away.
I have no idea where that comes from.
We don't do that for any other skill.
I don't know anyone who feels discouraged because they can't play a sport at the same level as a pro.
You know this is an unfair comparison.
Yet you do it to yourself when it comes to music.
This causes frustration and slows down actual progress.
Don't do this to yourself.
Learn to relax, enjoy the process of learning, and don't worry about sounding like a pro.
As you improve, over time, your sound will also improve.
IF YOU ARE STRUGGLING AND ARE FRUSTRATED IT CAN BE TEMPTING TO STOP. DO NOT MAKE THAT MISTAKE. EVERYONE LEARNS DIFFERENTLY AND AT DIFFERENT RATES. FIND A GOOD TEACHER TO HELP YOU OR IF YOU HAVE ONE, TALK TO THEM ABOUT IT.
The hardest part of learning to play guitar, piano or bass is not the physical piece.
That is a real challenge.
Especially in the beginning.
The hardest part is to overcome your doubts.
What actually determines success is your commitment and your attitude.
If you commit to learning.
Then you persist.
No matter what.
Never giving up.
You will learn to play :)
