Music student performs halfway across the world

Mark Spagnolo, a music student at the University of Guelph, boarded a plane headed to Idukki, Kerala, to play flute at a friend’s wedding. By the time he landed in India, he’d been invited to perform at three more weddings.

The journey of the 1971 war babies: A new home beyond Seven Seas and Thirteen Rivers.
Sneha Biswas sheds light on the stories of 15 war babies born out of the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation war. They eventually find homes in Canada.

Biswas engages with ideas of ethnicity, identity and fostering community-feeling away from one’s home. This essay was written for the CCYSC series No Child's Play: Recovering the Child from South Asian Partition Narratives.
